The Boston Celtics took a 1-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 120-113 victory on Tuesday night at TD Garden.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Jaylen Brown added 23 points and 7 rebounds. Derrick White also chipped in with 13 points off the bench.
The Celtics got off to a slow start, trailing by 8 points after the first quarter. However, they bounced back in the second quarter and took a 5-point lead into halftime.
The Celtics continued to extend their lead in the third quarter, and they took a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers made a late run, but the Celtics held on for the win.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Cavaliers in Game 2 on Thursday night.
